Online Courses Available Through Vermont Rural Water Association
About Course Approvals
Courses are approved for Training Contact Hours (TCH) by Vt Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division and Wastewater Management Division. W - approved for Water TCH; WW - approved for Wastewater TCH.
It is the practice of the Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division to allow up to 50% of a water operator's continuing education training in the form of online training for a given certification period. Questions on this issue can be directed to the DWGWPD.
Water operator certification information can be reviewed in the Vermont Water Supply Rule available at this link. Details in regards to public water system operator certification are listed in Subchapter 21-12 WATER SYSTEM CLASSIFICATION AND OPERATOR CERTIFICATION.
Wastewater operator TCH credit is issued at 100% for initial safety course taken. For any future safety course taken, only 50% of the TCH credit can be received for the entire time the individual is certified.
Wastewater operators please note: wastewater-related training obtained through online or webinar courses shall not exceed 50% of the total renewal training hours required.
