Click on the blue collapsible buttons to learn all you need to know about taking Water Works courses online with SunCoast Learning. Please be sure to take note of the Final Exam requirements before beginning a course!
Every course is broken up into bite-sized modules. Each module has a graded end-module quiz at the end.
- End-module quizzes need to be passed with 70% or better.
- You may re-take module quizzes as many times as needed to pass. Questions are randomized every time.
- No monitor needed for module quizzes.
- No time limits to finish.
There are specific guidelines for who can be your monitor:
- An examination monitor shall be an impartial person who is not concerned with the result of the examination or the success of the student.
- An examination monitor may not be a relative, friend, co-worker or employee of the student.
Some examples of an acceptable examination monitor are a utility manager, human
resource manager, training director, testing center, public library, public school, church leader, or college/university. Monitors will usually supervise examinations without charge. However, if any charges are involved, payment will be the responsibility of the student.
Washington State Department of Health (DOH) requires that all examinations used to determine successful completion of distance education or self-study courses be monitored. (This goes for all Water Works distance education providers.)
The exam monitor will confirm the student's identity using photo identification such as a driver's license. Please see the paperwork section below for required paperwork that must be filled out by both the exam monitor and the student.
Because the Declaration of Distance Education Examination Monitoring form needs to be signed by the exam monitor and the student, you will need access to a printer.
